The Consulate of México in Fresno, with the support of Mexico´s Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME for its acronym in Spanish), calls on education institutions and social organizations to participate in its IME-Becas program. The scope of the IME-Becas program is to offer economic resources for Mexican students currently enrolled in an academic plan offered by social organizations/education institutions. This scholarship was established by partnerships from Councilman Arias, The Mexican Consulate, and CalViva Health. Their intention is to help support AB540 and Dreamer students towards their educational journey. Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least three-quarter time (9+ units). 





ABC 30 Building A Better Community Scholarship

ABC 30 Building a Better Community Scholarships will award $500 to support  incoming freshman students enrolled full-time (12+ units) at any of the campus/sites within the State Center Community College District: Clovis Community College, Fresno City College, Reedley College, Madera College, and Oakhurst Center. Eligible applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need and community service involvement.





Americal Division 11th Brigade 4/3 RECON Scholarship

This scholarship, established by Natalie, from the Clovis Veterans Resource Center is meant to help ease and support the transition from the military to college life for a Veteran student. She shares the following words in honor of The Americal Division 11th Brigade 4/3 RECON unit who served in Vietnam: "These brave men served, sacrificed and faced many challenges upon returning to civilian life. It is an honor to know these men and express my gratitude, respect and admiration by establishing this scholarship in tribute. Their service has not gone unnoticed and they serve as an inspiration to me every day as we work toward continued improvement to the military to civilian transition for present and future Veteran students in the Veterans Resource Center." In true RECON fashion when I shared news of the establishment of this scholarship they wanted to help and selflessly gave toward it. We hope this scholarship will help support a student Veteran in their educational journey." Eligible applicants must be enrolled and taking at least one class at Clovis Community College, preference is given to veterans. 
 





Anna Marie Mester Memorial Scholarship

One scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled full-time (12 or more units), with a minimum GPA of 3.25, majoring in Biology or a STEM related major and intending to pursue a career in a STEM field. The Anna Marie Mester Scholarship is given by Thomas and Ellen Mester in honor of Thomas’ mother, Anna Marie Mester. A dedicated mother of three, Anna encouraged all her children to pursue higher education.






Asha's Scholarship

One scholarship will be awarded to a student who is enrolled in at three-quarter-time (9 units), with a minimum 2.5 GPA who can demonstrate campus and/or community involvement.  This scholarship was established by Asha's parents to support student success in students’ education and pay it forward to those pursuing a college degree. It was named after Asha because of the power of prayer that helped bring Asha into this world and because Asha's name means hope. Quoted, “we want to give students hope that with higher education, the opportunities are abundant.” 





Audrey Heyne Memorial Scholarship

This memorial scholarship pays tribute to Audrey Marie Heyne, who was better known as a good friend to all, beloved by her family, friends, teachers, and co-workers. Audrey Heyne was a Clovis Community College Honors student who was majoring in Mathematics. An all-around student, she was well versed in the world of music and dance. Known as an avid reader, her dream was to become a professor and research mathematician. She suffered from severe depression, because of her mental illness, her life was cut too short. The focus of this memorial scholarship is to assist female students pursuing a degree in the STEM field, as well as help other students achieve their educational goals. Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are enrolled in at least three-quarter-time (9 units), with a minimum 3.5 GPA and who are pursuing a STEM major. Audrey’s giving spirit will live on. 





Barboza Family Scholarship



The Barboza Family Scholarship was established to express how important education is. Eligible applicants must have graduated from high school before 2018, completed between 2-12 units, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must have completed a Student Educational Plan (SEP). 





Barry and Peggy Maas Scholarship

The Barry and Peggy Maas Scholarship was established by Administrative Solutions, Inc. to help support those who have been in a Foster Care Program, Salvation Army, Hope Now, Fresno Rescue, Marjoree Mason or another related program. Preference is given to an ASI employee or relative of an employee. Eligible students must be enrolled full-time (12 or more units) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.





Bernard Osher Foundation Scholarship

The California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment is a permanent fund that provides scholarships annually to students. It combines the historic $50 million commitment including an upfront gift of $25 million from the Bernard Osher Foundation with a three-year match fundraising campaign that involves all 115 California community colleges. Through this campaign, the Endowment will ultimately grow to $100 million and provide scholarships for thousands of California students annually. Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least half-time (6+ units), have a minimum 24 completed units, be eligible for a California College Promise Grant, meet SAP, and show financial need.






Bill Bishop Memorial Scholarship

The Bill Bishop Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. Bishop’s granddaughter, Kira Tippins, who serves as Vice President of Student Services at Clovis Community College. Mr. Bishop was born and raised in Arkansas where he left grade school to work in the fields to help his family. He moved to California in the 70’s in search of better work opportunities. He raised his family here and after retiring, he moved back to Arkansas. Mr. Bishop was a strong advocate of education although he never had the opportunity to pursue it himself. Unfortunately, he passed after a year and a half battle with cancer in 2008. However, through his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his legacy lives on. Preferred consideration will go to students enrolled full-time (12 or more units), who have overcome mitigating circumstances and have close relationship to their grandparents. 






Bill Stewart Student Leadership Scholarship



This scholarship is in honor of Former Chancellor Dr. Bill F. Stewart.  this award recognizes students who exhibit outstanding performance in Student Government, Student Clubs, athletics, Music or Drama. 





Bonner Family Foundation Scholarship

The Bonner Family Foundation was started in 1984 with the purpose of supporting arts organizations, arts education, and other focused education projects. This endowed scholarship fulfills their intent to help educate young people. Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least part-time (6 units). 






Bruce and Madeline Droz Scholarship

Bruce and Madeline Droz believe that education is the primary solution to so many of the issues we are facing in our society today. For this reason, they decided to make an investment in the future of Central Valley students who want to pursue their educational goals and make a difference. They are hopeful that this scholarship will give the individual a helping hand to continue their academic journey and provide them the best opportunity for success in the future. A scholarship will be awarded a student who is enrolled full-time (12 or more units) who is pursuing a healthcare or agriculture related major. 






Buzz Adams Scholarship

The Buzz Adams Scholarship was established by CCC’s former Director of Institutional Research, Alex Adams. This scholarship will be awarded to a student pursing a Mechatronics or Engineering major at Clovis Community College. To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in at least five (5) units and show financial need. Preference will go to first-generation students. 






CalViva Health Dream Scholarship



CalViva Health would like to provide students access to scholarships, that will help advance them through their studies with limited burdens or obstacles. Recipients of the CalViva Scholarship must be full-time (12 or more units) students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who show financial need and are also receiving Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Medi-Cal, Housing Stipend, WIC or Calfresh/SNAP.

Carmen Quiroz Memorial Scholarship

This Scholarship was established in honor of Carmen Quiroz Stoner, remembered as being loving, kind, caring, and thoughtful. A Selma High grad, Carmen was the only daughter out of seven, to obtain a high school diploma, she then went on to complete vocational school in Fresno and earned a certificate in Business. As the daughter of an immigrant mother, she held a strong belief in the value of education and consistently motivated her children (Luis Jr. and Carla) on the importance of pursuing their education. She was the driving force behind them, supporting and encouraging them to prioritize their studies and pursue a career they would find happiness in. Her values, work ethic, and faith will continue in future generations as a testament to the countless lives Carmen touched during her 84 years of life. The establishment of this scholarship is one way her family has chosen to honor the life and legacy of Carmen Quiroz Stoner. The intent of this scholarship is to support student success and provide resources to purchase necessary items for "Dreamer" students attending Clovis Community College.  Eligible applicants must be enrolled in at least three-quarter-time (9 units), have a 2.5 GPA and must be a "Dreamer," eligible, AB 540, and/or California Dream Act applicant.  The student must also be enrolled in at least one class at CCC.  
 





CCC Classified Senate Scholarship

The CCC Classified Senate Scholarship was established by the Classified Senate at Clovis Community College to support students who can demonstrate perseverance and dedication to their educational goals. Two scholarships will be awarded to students who are enrolled in at least three-quarter-time (9 units), earning a minimum 2.8 GPA and can demonstrate financial need through the financial aid application. 





CCC Financial Aid Office Scholarship

The Clovis Community College Financial Aid Office staff supports the educational goals and objectives of the students it serves. They offer one $500 award annually to students enrolled in at least three-quarter-time (9 units), maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA, while pursuing any major. The award is based on demonstrated community service and volunteerism. 
 





Celebrating Women Overcoming the Odds

A former FCC students who transferred to CSUFresno to complete her Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field. Her Masters of Science degree was completed out of state. She built a multi-state company of 100+ employee before selling it. She came from a home of limited resources and attended FCC after HS due to the generosity of a scholarship that covered her tuition. She vowed to return the gift. 

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to a student seeking to advance their education. Financial support can be used toward tuition and/or personal living expenses. 

Preference given to a candidate who identifies as a women, demonstrates financial need, self-identifies as having overcome a personal challenge. 





Chancellor's Circle Osher Scholarship

One scholarship will be awarded to a student of State Center Community College District who is enrolled at least three-quarter-time (9 units). Candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need through their financial aid application and show involvement in a school or professional organization that gives back to the community. This endowed scholarship, part of the Osher Initiative for California Community College students, was established in 2011 by donations from members of the SCCC Chancellor’s Circle. It is their wish to help make attendance at community college possible for a student who has demonstrated his/her seriousness about obtaining an education.

Chancellor’s Circle is State Center Community College Foundation’s annual membership society made up of individuals, companies and organizations that are invested in making a difference in the lives of students pursuing and achieving their higher educational goals. Students must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and show involvement in school or professional organization that gives back to the community.

The Child Development Department Scholarship was established by faculty members Elizabeth Romero and Sallie Turpin, to assist students that are pursuing a career in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. Eligible applicants must be attending at least part-time (6 units) and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.






Clovis Chamber Leadership Scholarship

One scholarship will be awarded to a student who has completed at least one semester at Clovis Community College, is enrolled in at least part-time (6 units), and has a minimum 2.5 GPA. Candidates for this scholarship must demonstrate leadership skills by providing examples from activities in which they are currently involved. Activities may include but are not limited to the following: work related activities, church/religious functions, assisting in raising younger siblings, leadership classes in high school, club activities or athletic activities. 






Clovis Chamber of Commerce "Fran Blackney" Entrepreneurial Scholarship

The Clovis Chamber of Commerce “Fran Blackney” Entrepreneur Scholarship is funded by donors who advocate and support a healthy business environment which improves the quality of life in Clovis. Fran Blackney was an active, beloved member of the Chamber. She was witty, honest, quiet, and genuine. Known throughout the community for her passionate business advocacy, Fran worked with leaders in government, giving voice to the Chamber and to its members, regarding issues that helped or hindered small business in the local area. Fran was the embodiment of innovation, spirit, and community. Requirements for this scholarship include students who have an Entrepreneur or Business major with a minimum 3.0 GPA, enrolled at least part-time (6 units) and be in the Clovis Community College Entrepreneur program. Preference will go to someone with a passion for being their own boss or to create their own business who is also driven, passionate about business and has demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit.  






Clovis Community College Academic Senate Scholarship

The Clovis Community College Academic Senate Scholarship aims to provide a student with support to pursue their academic goal. One scholarship will be awarded to a full-time (12 or more units) student with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Working adult students, traditional age students or returning students pursuing any major will be considered. 





Clovis Crush Scholarship

In 2017, the Clovis Crush family took on the challenge of raising scholarship dollars during one of the most recognized fundraising efforts in the nation know as Giving Tuesday. Thanks to the efforts of students, faculty, donors, community and staff, they raised nearly $100,000 during their first campaign. A scholarship will be awarded to a Clovis Community College student, enrolled full-time (12 or more units), with a minimum 3.0 GPA and in pursuit of their educational objective at CCC. 






Clovis Social Sciences Department Scholarship

The Clovis Social Sciences Department Scholarship is awarded to students attending full-time (12 or more units), have a minimum 3.0 GPA and declared Social Sciences as a major.





C-MOOR Scholars

This scholarship was established by Dr. Rosa Alcazar, a biology professor at Clovis Community College. Dr. Alcazar was a first-generation high school graduate, attended a community college, transferred to UCR as a biology major and went on to pursue a doctorate degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Johns Hopkins University and postdoctoral training at Stanford. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide early exposure to original research and a means to develop relationships in the scientific community through the experience at presenting in a scientific conference. Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least half-time (6+ units) be in a STEM based major, meet a minimum 2.5GPA, have successful completion of Biol-12 (Research in Biology course), include a letter from their mentor in the course (not instructor), present at a local STEM symposium, use the funds to attend a conference and present at conference, preference to first-generation attending college who can demonstrate community service or financial need. 





Commitment to DEIA Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to increase the commitment to DEIA that Clovis Community College adheres to. Eligible candidates must demonstrate a commitment to social justice and DEIA, students must also be enrolled full time (12+ units) and have a minimum 2.0GPA.





Craig B. Roberts Memorial Scholarship

The Craig B. Roberts Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of Craig was an adventurous individual who was passionate about equity and opportunity for all. This scholarship recognizes first generation students who may be on a less traditional journey through higher education. Applicants must be attending full-time (12 or more units), have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be a first-generation college student. Preference is given to CalWORKs and EOP&S students.






Crush CTE Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in a CTE discipline. CTE programs can have additional costs associated with their discipline (i.e. uniforms, tools/instruments, fuel costs traveling to fieldwork sites, certification fees) not normally associated with other disciplines/majors.  Eligible applicant must be enrolled in at least 9 units and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.





Cuttone Family Scholarship

The Cuttone Family Scholarship was founded by the prior SCCCD Foundation Board President, Gina Cuttone. It was established to support students in pursuing their education. Each year, there are several scholarships that are available for students attending full time (12+ units) at Clovis Community College. Eligible students must have at least a 2.8 GPA.






Deborah and Dale Ikeda Scholarship

One $1000 Scholarship will be awarded to a Clovis Community College student attending full-time (12 units), with a minimum 1.8 GPA, however, must be making progress towards a 2.0 GPA. This scholarship was established by Clovis Community College’s former president, Mrs. Deborah Ikeda and her husband the Honorable Dale Ikeda. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage students to always strive to do their best.





Denise Hurst Accounting Scholarship

This Districtwide scholarship was established by Denise Hurst, CPA, and is intended to assist students that are pursuing a career in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. Eligible applicants also must be attending full-time (12 units) and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.






Distance Education Scholarship

The Distance Education Scholarship was established by members of the CCC Distance Education faculty who want to help students purchase the necessary school supplies to be successful in their classes. Students must be attending at least half-time (6 units) and enrolled in at least one distance education course.





Don and Elinore Walker Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded each year based on funds available to any graduate of Sierra High School who has maintained a GPA of 2.0 and is enrolled in a minimum of 9 units per semester. This scholarship will reimburse the recipient for registration fees and parking permits for four semesters provided the GPA and unit requirements have been maintained each semester. In addition, an account will be established for the eligible recipient to purchase books and supplies sold in the College bookstore. This scholarship was established by Don’s widow, Lee Walker, to have the legacy of his life live on through the lives of those students for whom an education will lead to a better life.





Dr. Fred Skydog Emerling Zoology Scholarship

Animals are complex creatures who exist alongside the ever-increasing demands of human societal and cultural systems. As such they exhibit certain behaviors, adapt to the environment in various ways, and frequently require human assistance for their survival after thousands of years of human encroachment on their territory. The need to understand their behavior, assist in their survival, and predict their needs increases yearly. This necessitates more and better knowledge of the differing needs of animal and human needs. This scholarship will, hopefully, provide mentoring from SCCCD faculty to help a student obtain a career that would involve animal research. Eligible candidates must complete the Dr. Fred Skydog Emerling Zoology Scholarship Essay, maintain a minimum 3.1 GPA, be pursuing a biology major and enrolled full time (12+ units).

This scholarship was established by Dr. Fred Skydog Emerling who graduated from a community college and worked at Fresno City College from 1984-2013 as a counselor. Skydog's love of animals is palpable in that he visited over 230 zoos/aquariums/animal exhibits, travelled to over 84 countries and all 7 continents, looking for animals in every setting. This included seeing penguins in the Antarctic, puffins in Iceland, bison in Yellowstone, encountering great white sharks from a cage in South Africa, communing with lemurs in Madagascar, and stalking gorillas in Uganda plus finding rattlesnakes and scorpions in Arizona, where he retired. He travels to see animals.  While working as a counselor at Fresno City College for 29 and 1/2 fabulous years, he developed a great love for students in SCCCD and wanted to find a way to give back. Although his Ph.D. is in school psychology, animals are a passion of his. This passion has been passed on to his children, one of who got his Ph.D. in evolutionary biology and teaches biology in the SCCCD.

Earth and Environmental Science Excellence Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to support students excelling in the Geosciences.  Preference is for individuals enrolled in an Environmental Science or Geology course and or participating in an Environmental Science, Geology, or Elementary Teacher Education Transfer Degree program. Others will be considered if participating in a volunteer or other field activity in the geosciences. (Geology courses include: Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Introduction to Earth Science.) Eligible applicants must be enrolled in at least one course and earning a minimum 2.5 GPA






Ed Hussian Counseling Scholarship

The Ed Hussian Counseling Scholarship was established in memory of Ed Hussian. Community college counseling was not just a job for Ed, it was his life. Dr. Erica Johnson who was a very dear friend and mentee of Ed's, established this scholarship to keep his memory alive and to recognize his work in helping establish CCC's Counseling Department. Ed and Erica worked together as a power team for 19 years and she continues to carry on his legacy to ensure students are given every opportunity to succeed. Eligible applicants must be attending full-time (12 units), have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have a declared CCC major, completed the Comprehensive Student Educational Plan (SEPC), show financial need and demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities.






Educational Employees Credit Union Scholarship

The EECU Scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled full-time (12 units), earning a minimum 2.5 GPA and is a member or a dependent of a member of Educational Employees Credit Union. Membership in Educational Employees Credit Union is open to all students, school employees, and their family members. As the credit union for the educational community, EECU is pleased to provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing a higher education and return support to the community from which they gain their members from.






Elements of the Arts Bookstore Scholarship

There are many people who want to help students succeed in their education. Donors make contributions at State Center Community College Foundation's annual Elements of the Arts previously known as the Renaissance Feast for Scholars asking that their money be applied toward scholarships where needed. The Elements of the Arts Bookstore Scholarship was established thanks to these donations. The purpose of this Scholarship is to use these funds to support a student that has exhibited financial need, had a unique hardship or circumstance, is enrolled in at least three-quarter time (9 units) and has a minimum 3.0 GPA.  






Elite Team Offices Scholarship

Elite Team Offices would like to give back to students enrolled in the colleges within the SCCCD, by providing students with a scholarship fund, to learn practical experience in business, landscape (design, maintenance & construction) and auto/tractor mechanics. This scholarship was established by Guy Stockbridge, owner of Elite Team Offices. In 1987, Guy Stockbridge attended a business class at Fresno City College. In this class, his professor stated if anyone started a business, they would improve a whole grade in the class. Being an ambitious young man, Guy took his professor's challenge and started a lawn service business, currently known as Elite Team Offices. Now, over 30 years later, Guy’s business continues to strive and employs over 300 team members. Scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled at least part-time (6 units) earning a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will go to a student that is a relative of a team member of Elite Team Offices and then to a Business, Construction or Horticulture major.






Eng Family Scholarship

Established by the previous Vice Chancellor of Finance, Mr. Ed Eng, The Eng Family Scholarship, is awarded to someone who works at the District Office, preferably in the Finance Department, or be a relative of someone working there, preferably son or daughter. Students are required to be enrolled full-time (12+ units) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.





Fig Garden Rotary Scholarship

The Fig Garden Rotary Scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates a financial need and evidence of “service beyond self,” a rotary motto demonstrated by volunteerism within the community and or school to promote good will and mutual respect of all. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time (12 units) with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.






Fresno County Women's Chamber Ethel McCormack Memorial Scholarship

The Fresno County Women's Chamber Ethel McCormack Memorial Scholarship was established by the Fresno County Women's Chamber, to assist students that are pursuing an AA Degree or Certificate Program in any major.  Eligible applicants must also be enrolled full-time (12+ units) and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.





Gayle Hearst First Generation Scholarship

The Gayle Hearst First Generation Scholarship was established to encourage students who are the first in their family to go to college to obtain a degree. Gayle Hearst was the first in her extended family to graduate from college. However, this goal could not be achieved without the encouragement of her family and school counselors, along with the financial support of scholarships from her elementary school PTA, the FCC associated student body, and others. Ms. Hearst started at City College, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fresno State and went on to obtain a law degree from UC Davis. Now, she states,  "it is time to support the next generation of college graduates". Eligible applicants must be first-generation, be enrolled at least full time (12+ units) and be meeting a minimum 2.5 GPA.






Gender-Sexuality Alliance Club Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to support minoritized students within the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Preferences will go to individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, supporters of the LGBTQ+ community, and members of the CCC Gay Straight Alliance Club. Others will be considered if applicable, as the scholarship is open to all applicants enrolled at least three-quarter time (9+ units), with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Preference is given to former recipients of their Gold Award, Silver Award, and/or Bronze Award from GSCCS. Hebert Memorial Scholarship

The Hebert Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Norman Hebert Sr. and his daughter Denise, who were tragically killed in an automobile accident. Norman Hebert was among the first group of African American Firefighters hired in Los Angeles. His daughter Denise was offered a full-ride scholarship to pursue a degree in Journalism however she never got the chance due to her early death. The Hebert Memorial Scholarship established this memorial scholarship to assist African American students achieve their educational goals. Eligible students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and be enrolled in at lest three-quarter time (9+ units). 
 





Hoover Class of 1971 Scholarship

Must be a graduate of Hoover High School (existing student or incoming freshman). Community service and/or participation in school activities (student govt., sports, clubs). Prefer to award to a student that may be self-supporting without the help of financial aid and/or parent’s income.  May also include a working student, 20+ hours/wk.

To provide a “middle of the road” (grade-wise) Hoover High alumnus a boost in starting and/or continuing their academic/career goals in higher education.  Preferably a student with a financial need that may not have ready access to other resources.

This scholarship is awarded by the Hoover High School Alumni of the Class of 1971.

Jaime Chavero Memorial Scholarship

Nancy Chavero, counselor at CCC established the scholarship in memory of her father, Jamie Chavero.  Jaime Chavero immigrated to the United States from Mexico in 1983 and managed to establish a real estate company of more than 100 rental properties in Fowler and Selma. He did all this without a high school diploma or being fluent in English. His hard work, determination, resilience and perseverance make him well- known and respected within the Fowler community. First generation college student, AB 540, DACA or undocumented. Preference given to Hispanic and Fowler resident. Student must demonstrate financial need, have a 3.0 GPA and be a full time (12 units). 





James and Sandra McHenry Scholarship

The James and Sandra McHenry Scholarship has been established to help deserving students who aspire to be life science teachers or enter other careers in life or environmental sciences. Viable candidates must be full-time (12 or more units) students majoring in the life sciences and must have accumulated at least 15 college units with a minimum 3.0 GPA. This scholarship was established in the names of James A. and Sandra G. McHenry who have had a lifelong commitment to life science education and the teaching profession. The McHenrys both have distinguished careers as science educators at Fresno City College and the Fresno Unified School District.

She had made several sacrifices to assure that the kids had a stable and positive childhood. Running her own small business and taking care of her family put education out of reach.

Jue-e Due-e Village 175-1 Dawn Brothers Scholarship

This Scholarship is in memory of the home located at 175-1 JuiDui Village built by the grandfather of the brothers and sisters of the Dawn family. The home was built in the early 1900s and is now considered a historic landmark.  Education was encouraged by the Dawn Family parents they were very strong advocates of education which led to many of the grandchildren becoming educators. This scholarship is for students who are enrolled in at least three-quarter-time (9 units), have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Teaching majors are preferred.

Doris is a member of the Clovis Community College staff, she wanted to honor her late mother, Lorraine Mercier, who was a registered nurse. Eligible applicants must enrolled full time and be taking nursing pre-requisites at Clovis Community College in preparation to transfer to a nursing program at a 4-year college have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled at least Full Time (12+ units).

The Molly Taylor Griffin Scholarship was established by Doug and Doris Griffin in memory of their daughter, Molly Taylor Griffin. Molly was tragically killed by a drunk driver. She was an alumna of both Clovis Community College and CSU Fresno where she obtained her degree in nursing. Molly exuberated love and kindness and because of that, Molly Day was established by her parents on her birthday. Native American Women’s Scholarship

Established by Dr. Sandra Caldwell, who is the Reedley College President and is from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, this scholarship intends to promote access to higher education for Native American women. As an independent minor with little hope of a college education, Dr. Caldwell found success through support and access at a rural-based community college.  She and her husband, Jeromy, want to ensure that other Native American women have access to achieve success through education. Qualified scholarship recipients are to be awarded and considered from the following campus/center in the order listed below: Oakhurst Community College CenterReedley College, Madera Community College CenterClovis Community College (previously known as Willow International Community College Center) or  Fresno City College. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled at least half-time(6+ units).

Occupational Therapy in Action Scholarship

The Occupational Therapy in Action Scholarship was established by Ms. Nancy J. Scott. With her desire to help others she longed to pursue higher education but did not have the financial ability to do so. She understands growing up with hardship and hopes this scholarship will afford an opportunity for the recipient to pursue their dream. Her knowledge of occupational therapy (OT) came through her daughter. Ms. Scott has marveled at the opportunities this field brings to many and would like to ensure OTs are available. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide opportunity for a student to pursue their career path without financial hardship. Requirements for this scholarship include a  3.0 Pre-Requisite GPA, be enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Assistant major, have at least a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled Full Time.

This scholarship was established to honor Pat Taylor, a REALTOR Member, and to assist students to return to school and continue their education. Eligible students must be enrolled in at least one class, be meeting a minimum 2.5 GPA and who have a business and or music major are preferred. Preference will also go to reentry students in Eastern Madera County - Oakhurst, Ahwahnee, Bass Lake, Coarsegold, Fish Camp, North Fork, O'Neals, Raymond, and Wishon. However, students from all areas from the Central Valley will be reviewed and given an equal opportunity.

The Paul and Donna Duckworth Scholarship was funded by Paul and Donna who are both graduates of the California Community College system. They want to assist students who are pursuing the same goal of community college as a starting point and the students planning to continue to a university to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree.The recipient of this scholarship must be full-time, have financial need and should describe any hardships or unusual circumstances on their application. Consideration will be given for students who are self-supporting and/or working while in school or during the summer.





Paul and Lucile Robinson Scholarship

The Paul & Lucille Robinson Scholarship will be awarded to students attending Fresno City College and Clovis Community College. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and support those who desire to serve the community through public service. Priority is given to current and former employees of the County of Fresno (including its Superior Court) and the children of those employees. Students must be registered to vote and taking classes that can either lead to employment or advance their employment in government. Eligible applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of 15 units within the State Center Community College District and shall maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 (with no grades below a “C”).  Students must also be enrolled at least three-quarter-time (9 units).  






Pazong Her Higher Education Scholarship

The Hmong people started immigrating to the United States as refugees after the Vietnam War a result of their involvement with the United States C.I.A.’s Secret War in the neighboring country of Laos. Hunted and persecuted by the communists, hundreds of thousands of Hmong fled the country of Laos across the Mekong River to resettle into makeshift refugee camps of neighboring Thailand before finally being resettled into countries such as the United States, France, and Australia. The California Central Valley quickly became home to one of the largest Hmong-American populations in the United States.

Teng Her, Director of College Technology Services at Clovis Community College, established this scholarship in honor of his mother, Pazong V. Her. Born in Laos, she was one of the Hmong refugees that immigrated to the United States with nothing more than her son, husband and a few personal belongings. Not knowing English, she attended adult school to learn the language and be able to communicate. Understanding the value of education, she continued her journey to earn a high school diploma while raising a family and working part-time. In the mid 1990’s, she passed her citizenship exam and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. This scholarship is being offered to assist Hmong-American students at Clovis and Madera Community College in their pursuit of their higher education dreams. Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least three-quarter-time (9 units) and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.






Psychology Scholarship, In Memoriam of Pedro Sierra

The Psychology Scholarship, in Memoriam of Pedro Sierra was funded by Clovis Community College Psychology instructor, Dr. Cindy Walker Cumbie, who dedicates this scholarship to her grandfather, Pedro Sierra. Her grandfather’s belief in her was what resulted in Walker Cumbie earning a doctorate while working throughout her collegiate career. Dr. Walker Cumbie wishes the scholarship recipient to receive assistance as they are working their way toward a degree in psychology. Eligible applicants must meet be enrolled in 9 or more units, be pursuing a Psychology degree, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a first generation student and have unmet need. 






REFCO (Retired Employees of Fresno County) Scholarship

Robin Jean Fraley Scholarship

Eligible applicants must be full-time student with minimum 2.5 GPA and be present or past membership in the International Order of Jobs Daughters, International Order of Rainbow Girls, or the Order of Demolay. Applicants must provide an online recommendation from one of these groups attesting to their food standing in their Bethel, Assembly or Chapter. If there are no applicants applying from one of the masonic youth organizations, then consideration will be given to a daughter/son or grandchild of a member of a Masonic Organization who is a current member in good standing. Applicant to provide a copy of current membership card and verification of relationship. Recipients must plan to transfer to a four year college or university. 

The Robin Jean Fraley Memorial Scholarship was started in 1972. In 2003 the scholarship funds were transferred to the State Center Community College Foundation. Robin died at the age of 16. She was a Jobs Daughter and was in the line to become Honor Queen. Her family wanted to honor her memory through assisting Jobs Daughters further their education. 





Sierra Online Scholarship

Scholarships are available to graduates of Yosemite High School who are majoring in computer information systems are enrolled at least half-time (9+ units) and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.  Students may be attending any campus or center within the State Center Community College District. On-Line Systems was founded in 1979 by Ken Williams, an American video-game developer and programmer for IBM, and his wife Roberta who lived in Simi-Valley.  Ken Williams bought an Apple II microcomputer which he planned to use to develop a Fortran compiler for the Apple II. At the time, his wife Roberta Williams was playing text adventure games on the Apple II. Dissatisfied with the text-only format, she realized that the graphics display capability of the Apple II could enhance the adventure gaming experience. The first game they developed was Mystery House created in 1980.  After their initial success they moved to Oakhurst, California and the company was renamed Sierra On-Line in 1982.  Sierra had grown enormously since its first years, and a new building would be needed to expand its operations to continue making games. A decision was made to move the headquarters north to Bellevue, Washington. The company, then known as Sierra Entertainment Inc, was last owned by Activision, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard.

Staying on Course Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage students to continue their education even if they have had some bumps along the way. This scholarship is intended for students who have may have struggled at one point with their education but have improved their GPA over the semesters and are on their way to a degree. Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least half-time (6 units), are returning students with 15-30 completed units towards their certificate or degree of choice, have a minimum 2.75 GPA and have a major declared. This Scholarship was established by Ann Brandon, an English and Reading instructor at Clovis Community College, and shares the following message: "I believe in our students and their futures."





Susan Yates Legacy Scholarship

Susan Yates was the first athletic director at Clovis Community College and is a significant influence within the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). Her influence and guidance was significant in the growth of female athletic administrators and female athletic programs both at Clovis Community College and also within the Central Valley Conference (CVC) and the CCCAA for many years. Her personal and professional goal has always been to develop the next generation of female athletic administrators within the state of California. The purpose of this scholarship is to help female student-athletes who plan to pursue a college degree and who demonstrate academic achievement, excellence of character, strong  leadership skills and active engagement within their sport. Recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled at least full-time (12+ units), meet a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a member of one of Clovis Community College's female athletic programs, have completed at least one season of competition at Clovis Community College and be an active member of at least one student club on campus. 





Suzanne Meek Memorial Scholarship

The Suzanne Meek Memorial Scholarship is in memory of Suzanne Meek, who was a teacher, administrator and lifelong learner. She valued education above all and made it her mission to encourage others to reach for the stars. This scholarship is to help support individuals pursuing a career in education. Terry and Cheryl Kershaw Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for a student enrolled in at least one class and be in a Career Technical Educational certificate or degree program with a minimum 2.7 GPA and enrolled at least half-time (6+ units). Its purpose is to financially support deserving students enrolled at Clovis Community College who wish to work in a career technical industry. This scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Terry Kershaw, who served the SCCCD for 36 years as an instructor at Reedley College and administrator in a variety of capacities at the campus and district levels. The las 12 years of his career were dedicated to the growth and development of the SCCCD-North Centers (Clovis, Madera, Oakhurst) as the Dean of Instruction/Vice President, advancing to the Vice Chancellor and finally the first campus president of the Willow International Center prior to his retirement in 2012. This scholarship was established as the result of generous donations by family, friends, and SCCCD constituents in tribute to Dr. Kershaw's tenure with the State Center Community College District. 





The Elizabeth Aguilar ‘Lilbit’ of Love Family Scholarship

The Aguilar Family Scholarship intends to assist students who may be struggling to balance their studies with any mental health issues they are battling such as anxiety, depression, suicide, and who have a family history that directly affects their support for academic success. Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least part-time (6 units) and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Students going into a mental health career field (i.e., Psychology) are also acceptable. The Aguilar family has a history of mental illness, including attempted suicide. They share the following message: “We know the challenges it takes to keep motivated, even good days seem lost and hopeless. Our hope is to add a little bit of cushion to their financial strain, so they have one less thing to worry about. It is important to remind students that it is ok to have these struggles but to also remember there are people out here who can relate and are there for you. Because we seemed ok on the outside, we did not get the help or attention needed to support our struggles. Be proud of who you are and know that its just another day and tomorrow is just another day to start over.” 






The Gary Sakaguchi Scholarship

This scholarship is honoring the memory of Gary Sakaguchi. Gary was the Director of Technology for Clovis Community College, Madera and Oakhurst Centers, and Reedley College for many years. Gary expected hard work and lead the way of technology advances for our SCCCD Campuses. In his honor, The Clovis Tech Team donors wish to award a student that reflects Gary's legacy within our college district to pay it forward as they enjoy the opportunity to help students achieve higher learning in the field of technology. They realize the work, dedication and commitment it takes to be successful. This scholarship will go to students who are enrolled full-time (12 or more units), have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are pursuing one of the following majors: Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology. The ideal recipient is a hard-working student that excels in academics and is driven to take steps to enter the industry. Students that are connecting school to a job with determination are ideal. This can be an internship, part time job, or co-curricular engagement along with good grades that help someone stand out as an ideal recipient.





The Honors Wikipedia Education Scholarship

To recognize and financially support CCC Honors students who aim to build an equitable future through collaboration and information integrity. The Wikipedia Foundation offered a stipend for an academic project at CCC for students' contributions to the Wikipedia biographies of under-represented individuals in the STEM field. The CCC Honors students of Melanie Sanwo chose to use the funds to create a scholarship aimed at aiding under represented individuals in the CCC Leon S. Peters Honors Program.
Eligible applicant must be Honors students enrolled in at least 12 units and have a minimum GPA of 3.5.

This Scholarship is in honor of Thelma Valdez who was an art student at Clovis who passed away in 2020. She brought, light, laughter and wisdom to the art department as a lover of art, music and life.  Eligible applicants must be enrolled at least half-time (6 units), have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, have a minimum 3.5 GPA in art courses, have an AA-T in Studio Art or AA in Art as a  declared major and may be required to prepare for a Portfolio Review of (5-10 images).





Torres Pagdanganan Filipino American Scholarship

The Torres Pagdanganan Filipino American Scholarship was established in honor of the hope community colleges and higher education provide. Anchet and Gloria Torres immigrated to the United States from the Philippines and settled in Fresno during the early 1980s. Their children, Mark and Von, are second-generation Filipino Americans who were born in Fresno and raised in Clovis. This scholarship is dedicated to Mark and Von's maternal grandparents, Vincente and Honorata Pagdanganan, who were supporters of providing educational opportunities for their children, grandchildren, and community. Eligible students must be enrolled full time (12 or more units) and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

This VFW Post was established in 1953 by the World War II Nisei (2nd generation Japanese-American) veterans who served in the Military Intelligence Service, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the 100th Battalion. 
During WWII, the US Government forcibly relocated and incarcerated people of Japanese Ancestry from the western Pacific states (citizens and non-citizens) without legal charges or trials and deprived them of their civil liberties written in the US Constitution. Over 30,000 Nisei (2nd generation Japanese Americans) served in the US military while their families were held under military guard at barbed-wired concentration camps in isolated areas of the country. These Nisei soldiers formed segregated Japanese American US military units of the Military Intelligence Service 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the 100th Battalion. The 442nd Regimental Combat Team is noted to be the most decorated unit in American history for its size and length of service, receiving 7 Presidential Unit citations, 21 Medals of Honor, 29 Distinguished Service Crosses, 560 Silver Stars, 4,00 Bronze Stars and more than 4,500 Purple Hearts. At the end of WWII, after the US declared victory, President Harry Truman, presented the 442nd Regimental Combat Team with its 7th Presidential Unit Citation on the White House lawn and stated, "You have fought not only the enemy, but prejudice and you have won." 

The VFW Sierra Nisei Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is also a veteran attending at least half-time (6+ units).





William "Bill" Harris Scholarship

The William "Bill" Harris Scholarship was established in honor of a true renaissance man who taught himself to write music and oil paint. He would take the train home after a day’s work in Chicago and then spend the evening/night writing music or painting or woodworking. His other passion was to perform on stage in plays or musicals with the local theater group. The purpose of this scholarship is to help a student continue their education. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full time (12 or more units), have an art or music major, meet a minimum 2.5 GPA, be in good academic standing and show financial need.
